We are seeking a talented and motivated Senior Planner to join a growing planning consultancy. With an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality planning advice and successfully guiding development projects from inception through to implementation, this is an opportunity to make a genuine impact on the places and communities around you.
You will be a Chartered Town Planner (or actively working towards RTPI membership) with planning experience gained in either the public or private sector. This role offers exposure to a diverse range of projects and clients, alongside the opportunity to develop your career within a supportive and collaborative team environment.
The Role
As a Senior Planner, you will:
- Provide planning advice to a wide range of clients, including housebuilders, land promoters, developers and businesses.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, local authorities and professional consultants.
- Develop and implement planning strategies tailored to project objectives.
- Prepare high-quality planning reports, appraisals and written advice.
- Undertake planning research and due diligence exercises.
- Prepare, submit and manage planning applications and appeals.
- Liaise and negotiate with planning officers and key stakeholders throughout the planning process.
- Participate in community consultation and engagement activities.
- Manage projects effectively, balancing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Work independently while contributing positively to a supportive team culture.
About You
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- RTPI membership or progress towards chartered status.
- Experience within the public and/or private planning sector.
- Strong technical planning knowledge and the ability to apply this across a variety of development projects.
- Commercial awareness and an understanding of client objectives.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Confidence, integrity and sound professional judgement.
- Strong organisational and project management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and web-based applications.
- A proactive approach, enthusiasm and a solution-focused mindset.
- A commitment to continuous professional development and learning.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
