Part-Time Town Planner / Senior Town Planner
Location: Birmingham
Salary: £30,000 - £45,000 pro rata
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Part-Time Town Planner or Senior Town Planner to join a respected and growing planning consultancy based in Birmingham.
Working with a diverse client base including developers, landowners, educational institutions and commercial organisations, you will be involved in delivering planning advice across a broad range of projects, including residential, industrial/logistics, education, retail and mixed-use developments.
The Role
Key responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and managing planning applications and appeals
- Undertaking planning appraisals and policy reviews
- Supporting site promotion through the Local Plan process
- Liaising with clients, local authorities and multidisciplinary project teams
- Preparing planning statements, reports and supporting documentation
- Managing projects and client relationships
- Contributing to business development activities where appropriate
Senior-level candidates will also have the opportunity to lead projects, mentor junior staff and play a key role in the continued growth of the business.
About You
To be considered, you will ideally have:
- MRTPI qualification (or be working towards chartership for Planner-level candidates)
- Previous experience within a planning consultancy
- Strong report writing and communication skills
- Good knowledge of the UK planning system and planning policy
- Excellent organisational and project management abilities
- A proactive and commercially aware approach to client service
