Land Charges Officer (6-Month Contract)
Location: North West England (Remote with 1 office visit per month)

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Land Charges Officer to join a busy local authority team on an initial 6-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with a strong background in land charges administration and local land searches to support a high-performing service during a period of increased demand.
The role is predominantly remote, with attendance at the office required approximately once per month in North West England.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and maintain Local Land Charges records accurately and efficiently.
- Handle LLC1 and CON29 searches in accordance with legislation and service standards.
- Respond to enquiries from solicitors, conveyancers, developers, and members of the public.
- Ensure land charges data is updated and maintained in relevant systems.
- Support the delivery of a high-quality, customer-focused land charges service.
- Work collaboratively with internal departments to obtain and verify information required for searches.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, policies, and procedures.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience working within a Local Land Charges function.
- Strong understanding of LLC1 and CON29 search processes.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and local authority procedures.
- Experience using land charges and property information systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
Desirable
- Experience working within a UK local authority environment.
- Familiarity with digital land charges systems and data migration projects.
