Senior Planning Officer - South West
£40-£50/hour (dependent on experience) - Hybrid (1-2 days in-office/site per week) - 6-month contract
A Local Authority in the South West is seeking an experienced Senior Planning Officer to handle a varied caseload of householder, complex minor, and small major applications (up to 50 dwellings).
What You’ll Do

Manage a diverse caseload from householder to small major applications

Deliver high-quality decisions in line with national and local policy

Attend the office and sites once a week (flexibility possible for the right candidate)

Contribute to the wider Development Management team where needed
What You’ll Bring

Experience in Development Management with a range of application types

Ability to manage caseloads independently and meet statutory deadlines

Strong planning judgement and attention to detail
